The Legacy of Bob Hovey

On the evening of Wednesday April 21st, 2021, Bob Hovey was in rare form (even for Bob) at the Annual Gamechanger Handicapping Meeting.  After a few cocktails, Bob exclaimed out of the blue, "The Gamechanger Challenge Trophy should be named after me, as I was the first Challenge Champion!"   Tragically, less than three weeks later, Bob was gone.

Bob Hovey ,“The Matrix”, was a player, a brother, father, husband,  and most of all, a great friend to ALL who knew him.    He was a part of the Gamechanger Board of Governors, planner, Player, and the first Gamechanger Challenge (Now the Hovey Challenge) Champion.  Bob was what the Gamechanger /Hovey Challenge is all about…Friendship, fellowship, laughter, competition, and fun. Bob's love for golf was evident in the fact that he not only achieved a hole-in-one, but three of them in his short time with us.

We honor our brethren with the naming of The Hovey Challenge and The Hovey Trophy, and we will continue to Honor Bob through the playing of The Gamechanger Tournament.  Bob's wit, sense of humor, friendship and love for the game of golf will forever be missed...but never forgotten.
